tomorrow is the big KEC 1st annual GLBT summit. finally. it seems like the planning has been going on forever. (and the planning for the next one will start wednesday, i'm sure) anyhow, it ought to be interesting!
ok, irritating factoid of the day; it has snowed several times this weekend. it is 28 march, and it has snow! absolute ridiculousness! i've certainly had my fill of the vile white precipitation.
saturday, i had lunch with sara o'keeffe and laura engelhardt, which was incredibly fantastic. i ended up blabbing the entire time about deutschland, i know, but it was wonderful just being in their presence. (does that sound creepy?) later that evening, i made my american family Spätzel with german käse, and braised red cabbage with currants (rotkhol mit korinthen), and a nice salad. it all turned out really well! also got to catch up with marianne and cinnie, which was awfully nice as well.
sunday, was spent mostly lazing about, but also heaps of laundry. we also spent the evening catching up with tom and B. (it was indeed a weekend of catching up with folks!)
after work, i decided to make my soup for tomorrow's dinner, because i won't have time to make anything then. it's an algerian fish soup, made with onion, garlic, tomato, potato, and fish. i also put mustard seed, cumin seed, turmeric, saffron, indian chili powder, and paprika in it. tomorrow, i'll heat it up with a bit of lemon juice. hopefully it tastes ok! i'll let you know.
ok, enough random jib-jab, i'm a tired puppy. gute n8!

pizza-knish.
i ordered an eco-heater today! yay! it is (supposed) to be here friday! horray for free 2-day shipping! it'll be nice having that this year to keep the bedroom warm. (instead of the little "scary" space heater we've had in the past) i'm excited for it to get here, and i even had it delivered to work so i could make sure i'd get it :]
anyhow. had a nice dinner with mavis, jacob and scott, at cielito lindo. i love that place, but their horchata leaves something to be desired. (even so, it is still great food!) and the company was great, too! -- oh, and i had lunch with my co-worker, angela, today, and that was great too! she's such a great person, and so much fun!
by the way, i am proud of myself! even though it was a shorter month, i had more blog posts this month, than all of last month! horray for that!
four totally random notes, before i put the computer away.
1) a dilly bar from the DQ sounds simply amazing right now
2) my eyes are so amazingly sore from being tired
3) i'm excited to go to the pumpkin patch soon!
4) i think it is going to storm tonight! yay!

damn waterfalls.
finally, last week is over. (that is, officially, since it is now sunday) i don't know what was in the cosmos, but lat week was absolutely terrible. it was just one thing after another going wrong, plus, bat-shit-crazy people at my work. (the threat having to call the police, not once, but twice in the same day is ridix) and then, poor angela was sick - so we missed falafels. :[
oh, and the "doctor" visit.
"here, let me crush your balls between my fingers for 2 minutes, and then verbally abuse you... and then charge you."
i know some people get off on that kind of thing. but my bag is a little less painful. at least if you're going to do it, pay me, not the other way around! LOL but seriously, it's no fun being treated like you're crazy simply because you're doing what every guy between the ages of 15 and 150 is told to do when they feel something abnormal on their nuts.
eh, enough about my junk.
today will start a good week! i'm going in to work today for (enter # of hours here) to work on a project i concocted to use up our expired parking permits. i'm going to make a giant "collage" in the shape of a jayhawk. hopefully, it'll turn out alright! i'll post photos if that is the case. (the best part is, i'm doing something i love to do, AND building comp time, so when my mandatory winter break kicks in, i'll have some hours! huzzah!)
that's really the only other thing i've got going for me this week. except that friday is pay-day. but, that might be what will make it wonderful. last week i had so much planned, and everyone cancelled. (sans mavis, tom, and B - thank goodness for them! they keep me smilin'!) and, hopefully, the nutjobs will keep at bay in terms of job-shit. i won't hold my breath, though :]

faithful blog.
i apologize for my absence this week. it was, however, for good reason! this has been one of my busiest weeks so far this semester!
monday i took my little sister to a show in topeka (for her school)
tuesday i spent trying to catch up on reading!
wednesday evening was kol nidre, so i was making attonement
thursday was yom kippur, and then i got to see sara!!!! and micah too!!!! *see follwing
and now we're back to today!
i got a 93% on my western civ paper, which makes me happy, 'cos i really worked by tuchas off on that one! (i worked very hard on my ENG 314 paper too, but only managed a C+ :( i'm sad.) and i set a topic for my term paper in my religions in america class (i'm going to work on Kabbalism - and the esoteric qualities of transmutation) i'm not sure, it's all kinda muddy right now. i'll develop it later!
*anyhow! so i had a great dinner and conversation with sara last night! we got to hear about a lot of her responsibilities in costa rica, and the trials of coming back into mainline american culture. (i was really shocked when sara said "oh, i've never heard how sarah palin sounds") you really take for granted having such immediate access to cultural events in the states. this is not to mention, also, that we assume EVERY country is as interested in our culture as we are haha. anyhow, then we went back to micah's place and scott helped sara on her resumé while i chattered away with micah which was great times!
it's been a pretty good week! now i need to go do craptons of housework! you all have a great day!

countin' stars
i'm not feeling much better, though, my throat isn't quite as sore. (which in truth is pretty awesome, 'cos sore throats are the pits!) unfortunately, my lungs are all heavy, and i keep coughing. blah.
oh well, at least my head isn't (quite) as cloudy... though, i'm going to make it cloudy within the next few minutes. lol.
i have to make sure and finish reading the custom of the country this weekend, too.
oh, and in case i haven't told you, one of my best friends in the whole world came back from her year of peace corps this week! i'm excited like WOAH! and i'll get to see her next week! happy day!
ugh, i have to go see what the dog is doing, she sounds like she's ripping something up...
